Surgeek - Virtual Surgeon is the first educational application which apply the virtual reality technology to the surgical training. Virtual Surgeon, the application scenario is a simple virtual interactive simulation treatment, which named distal radius fracture treatment including open reduction and internal fixation. This could facilitate the surgeons with a more intuitional way to experience and learn surgical procedure. This application includes two scenarios. Scenario 1 is an experience into the virtual operating room. The user who equipped with the HTC Vive first enter the operating room would be guided with an induction of operating the controller and situational awareness. The user can walk around the operating room, and when the user press the Grip buttons (some surgical instruments can be interacted by the Trigger button), the surgical instrument such as scalpel can be picked up, or the lamp can be pull force and back. scenario 2 is the surgical operation. This is mainly about virtual interactive simulation treatment of distal radius fracture treatment. The user can operate the whole virtual surgery under the voice prompt step by step, including open reduction and internal fixation.
